ABOUT

Anna Howard

With a degree in Experimental Psychology from Oxford University, I have long been interested in the human mind and wellbeing. After a profound experience of awakening in my early 20s, I left my career as a BBC radio broadcaster and embarked on a spiritual quest that led me deep into healing and into the mystical traditions of Christianity and Tibetan Buddhism.

I trained with the National Federation of Spiritual Healers and later as Reiki Master, developing the natural gift that had emerged in my 20s. In 1996, I wrote Death: Breaking the Taboo (Arthur James Ltd), exploring the hidden faces of death. Research for this book introduced me to Tibetan Buddhism and in 1997, I relocated to live at Samye Ling Tibetan Buddhist Monastery, immersing myself for many years in the teachings and practices of the tantric Vajrayana tradition. I undertook a number of retreats, including a 100-day Tara Retreat in the valley of Eskdalemuir.

I began teaching in 2004 and for over 20 years have taught Meditation and introduced people to Tara through talks, books and workshops. The Sacred Feminine has been a consistent thread throughout my life and practice, and has become the work for which I am now most well-known. Alongside Green and White Tara, I also work with Red Tara and, from the Christian tradition, with Mary Magdalene and the Black Madonna. Each expresses a different aspect of feminine wisdom, love and compassion. Each brings her unique healing energies to those seeking wholeness and embodiment of the Divine Feminine within themselves.

My work is grounded in decades of practice, training and direct experience. At its heart is an invitation to deepen the relationship with oneself, to find healing and to explore the transformative and life-giving potential of the Sacred Feminine.

I currently live in Dorset, where I offer one-to-one and group sessions in person and online sessions worldwide.
